The latest news is that Huawei is planning to introduce its new cross-platform operating system, hongmeng, into smartwatches. Glory Vision TV has been unveiled as the first device to run hongmeng's operating system.
It is expected that the hongmeng operating system will be launched on various Huawei hardware and will replace Lite OS in Huawei Watch GT series. It is unclear whether Huawei Watch will continue to use Google's Wear OS.
According to reports from GSMArena, huawei has decided to develop a smartwatch based on the hongmeng operating system after a lackluster performance in the smartwatch market. Reports that Huawei has recently applied for bluetooth certification for a range of smartwatches suggest that Huawei Watch 3 could be on the horizon.
